Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center are tremendously important to US history, and in Virginia, they’re significant regional landmarks. Their goal is to make history fun and appeal to a wide range of audiences. At Ciniva Web Agency, we have a long-standing relationship with this group of history buffs, and we were eager to tackle the challenge of bringing their massive website into the 21st century and getting the site to meet new requirements.
Some of our challenges included migrating thousands of pages of content from an old content management system into a new, custom-built WordPress site and re-designing and developing the site to be responsive across all devices. We also custom-programmed an interactive, collage-style rotator to showcase the versatility of their events and offerings. Fulfilling all the requirements to comply with ADA and 508c standards was no small feat, but once completed it revolutionized the way users experience the site.
Once the new site went live, we launched a fresh, new advertising campaign to promote their seasonal events and exhibits and to drive site traffic.
Ciniva Web Agency developed the project in CSS3 (PHP for the responsive design), using HTML5, JavaScript and WordPress.
